Ahmed Yousef’s journey demonstrates how targeted support and practical experience can open pathways from learning to professional impact.
Ahmed was a participant in the ACT – Action for Civic Transformation Fellowship, a six-month programme designed to equip young people with the skills and confidence to lead in education and civic engagement. Through a structured approach combining experiential learning, hands-on activities, and expert-led sessions, Ahmed developed key competencies in leadership, teamwork, project management, and community engagement.
Throughout the programme, Ahmed showed strong commitment and attention to detail, actively engaging in learning activities and applying his skills in real-world contexts. The fellowship provided him with both the knowledge and the practical exposure needed to navigate professional environments.
Building on this foundation, Ahmed progressed into roles within the development and humanitarian sector. He worked as a Project Assistant at SMEPS, contributing to programme implementation and supporting community-focused initiatives.
Today, Ahmed serves as a Program Assistant at the World Health Organization, where he supports programme operations and contributes to impactful work in the health and development sector.
His journey reflects a clear progression from participant to professional, highlighting the importance of combining learning with real-world application. Through programmes like ACT, young people are not only equipped with skills, but also empowered to access opportunities and build meaningful careers.
Ahmed’s story reinforces EduRise’s mission: enabling youth to overcome challenges, develop their potential, and contribute to sustainable and positive change in their communities.
“EduRise’s ACT Fellowship program was a game-changer for me. It provided me with the skills, knowledge, and confidence I needed to excel in my field and secure a job as a Communications Consultant at SMEPS and now I am working as a Program Assistant at World Health Organization. The hands-on approach and experiential learning of the program helped me to be not just a better employee but also a better person. I am forever grateful for the opportunity and the support provided by EduRise.”
